Michael Longshaw – Chief Executive
Michael has extensive experience in the luxury golf
club and boutique resort market. He played
a significant role in the growth and development
of CCA Europe, a company specialising in
golf and club operations, and was responsible
for the successful redevelopment of Brocket Hall,
a renowned golf destination and country estate.
He has had significant exposure to the hotel
and resort industry worldwide, holding senior positions
within Trusthouse Forte and Delta Hotels. His
expertise in the all encompassing golf, leisure
and hospitality management sector will be utilised to
the client's full advantage.
David Mortimer, Director of Finance
David has thirty years experience of the hotel
and hospitality sectors. Before joining International Golf
& Resort Management as Director of Finance he
was UK Finance Director of Compass - the
world’s leading food and support service company.
While at Compass he played a key role
in the restructure of the business following its
merger with Granada Plc handling numerous acquisitions and
disposals, the integration of the company’s financial
organisation and systems, rationalisation of its property
portfolio and delivery of substantial cost savings.
Prior to that David held senior executive positions
with Forte Plc where he developed and implemented
the commercial and performance management of the Group
as well as delivering financial control disciplines and
profitability. He has a proven track record
in the successful execution of major strategic change
and improved performance and his commercial acumen is
an asset in assessing development opportunities, conducting
project feasibilities and undertaking financial management on behalf
of IGRM and its clients.
Nick Edmund – Director
A barrister by profession, Nick has an
in depth knowledge of the golf business having
written or edited 24 books on various aspects
of the game. He heads up Faldo
Design, Nick Faldo's burgeoning golf
course architecture business and has been instrumental in
initiating its worldwide development and expansion.
Mike Anderson – Director
Mike is the principal of Azure Mondiale,
a property company investing private equity into commercial
real estate and related ventures, specialising in
the leisure and hospitality sectors.
Michael Nagy, Managing Director
Brazil Michael was educated in South Africa and
England and graduated from Westminster College, London
with a degree in Hotel and Catering Management.
Michael founded Golf Corporate Brazil, a specialized golf
company focusing on the development of golf tourist,
incoming and outgoing, to Brazil. Member
of IAGTO – International Association of Golf Tour
Operators and the BBTG Brazilian Bureau of Golf
Tourism and a registered member of EMBRATUR.
Michael organises and stages the Faldo Series South
American Golf Championship and was responsible for bringing
the Grand Final to Brazil. Michael,
in his role as Managing Director of IGRM
Brazil, will be focusing on the development
of our operations in Brazil.
Steve Clement, Director of Golf Operations
Steve specializes in the advice, support and
management of golf courses. Steve is the
Head of Technical Golf Services and Golf Project
Management Services. Steve has worked for Marriott
Hotels, PGA Golf De Catalunya, Aldwickbury
Park Golf Club and many other clubs and
hotels as a freelance Golf Project and Construction
Consultant prior to taking up his present role
with IGRM.
Melanie Hickey, Director of Public Relations
Melanie Hickey has over twenty years’ experience of
publishing, media, and sales and marketing
during which time she has been responsible for
brand development, the creation of marketing and
publicity campaigns, and the organisation of special
and sporting events. As a result she
has made a significant contribution to the image,
reputation and success of her clients’ business
operations. Melanie’s contacts within the world of
sport and entertainment remain strong and have the
potential to add enormous value to any new
project or development. Melanie has worked on
projects in Spain, Italy, Cyprus,
Morocco, Thailand, the Caribbean and South America.
Gerry McDowell, Director of Human Resources
Gerry is a human resources generalist with a
strong track record of achievement within international and
multicultural organisations. Gerry has had twenty years’
experience in the hotel and leisure industry latterly
as Director of Human Resources at InterContinental Hotels
and directs the Human Resources strategy for IGRM.
